Description

Diving a bit deeper, it is the stylish details and advanced joinery techniques that set this piece apart. Wenge (a nearly black exotic hardwood) accent plugs provide a lovely dark contrast to the reddish-brown cherry and the polished finish accentuates the natural wood figure and color variations near the knot. For the joinery, sliding dovetails connect the main platforms to the two outer feet and center support. The feet and center support are then all joined together by the bottom horizontal member with bridle and half lap joints. This forms one completely solid unit with each piece locking the others in place.
